Terms of Service

Lysnap (referred to as "Lysnap," "we," "our," or "us" throughout these Terms) provides browser-based tools for saving video and audio content from supported platforms onto your own device. The service lets you paste a supported URL or run a keyword search to view available download or conversion options.

Tools currently in scope or scheduled to land soon:

• YouTube video downloader
• YouTube → MP4 conversion
• YouTube → MP3 audio extraction
• YouTube → M4A audio extraction
• Additional video and audio downloader tools added to the roadmap over time

By accessing any part of the Service, you accept these Terms. If you don't, please stop using Lysnap.

Lysnap doesn't host, control, or claim ownership of any third-party video, audio, thumbnail, metadata, or other media item that lives on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or any other external site.

Whatever rights exist over that content belong to the original creators, rights holders, or platforms in question. Nothing about your use of Lysnap grants you new rights over that content — it just provides a path to retrieve a copy of material you're already permitted to access.

You're the one in charge of how Lysnap gets used in your hands and what you do with whatever you download.

You agree to use the Service only for content where at least one of the following applies:

• You created or own it;
• You have explicit permission from the rights holder to download or save it;
• It's in the public domain;
• It's released under a license that allows download or reuse; or
• It can lawfully be used offline under the rules of your jurisdiction.

You agree not to use Lysnap to grab copyrighted content you don't have rights to, or to redistribute that content without authorisation.

Lysnap is meant for personal and permitted offline use. By using the Service, you agree not to use it to:

• Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights belonging to anyone;
• Break the terms of service of YouTube, Instagram, or any other platform Lysnap interacts with;
• Save, copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit content without permission;
• Bypass paywalls, DRM, geoblocks, age gates, or any other technical protection measures;
• Use downloaded content for harassment, harm, fraud, or other unlawful activity.

If you break these rules, the legal consequences are yours, not ours.

When you submit a URL or keyword, that data is processed temporarily — long enough to fetch the requested file or display search results — and then it's done.

We don't intend to keep a permanent copy of any video or audio file you save through the Service. Any temporary working files created during processing are removed automatically once the session is over, or by routine cleanup jobs at worst.

You agree not to:

• Run bots, scrapers, scripts, or automated systems that overload, abuse, or attempt to map our infrastructure;
• Try to disrupt, disable, reverse engineer, or interfere with the operation of the Service;
• Use Lysnap to facilitate illegal activity of any kind;
• Misrepresent your right to download or use content you don't have permission for;
• Try to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or technical restrictions we put in place;
• Use the Service in ways that harm Lysnap, its users, content creators, or partner platforms.

If we believe your use of the Service falls into any of the above, we may rate-limit, suspend, or block access without prior notice, while still respecting any legal obligations we have toward you.

We respect the intellectual property rights of creators and rights holders.

If you own copyright in a work and believe Lysnap is being used in a way that infringes your rights, please contact us with enough detail to investigate. A useful copyright complaint includes:

• Your name, organisation (if relevant), and best contact email;
• A clear identification of the copyrighted work;
• The URL or other information needed to locate the alleged infringement;
• A good-faith statement that the use isn't authorised by the rights holder, agent, or law;
• A statement that the information you've provided is accurate;
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Send notices to legal@lysnap.com. We aim to acknowledge within one business day.

Lysnap is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We don't promise that:

• The Service will always be online;
• Every video or audio link can be processed;
• Every quality or format option will be on offer for every source;
• Downloads will complete every time without interruption;
• Third-party platforms will remain technically compatible with Lysnap.

Platforms like YouTube routinely change their player code and content protection — when they do, Lysnap's behaviour may change with it.

The Lysnap website, brand, name, logo, interface, design, written content, and proprietary code are owned by Lysnap (or our licensors) and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or build derivative works from Lysnap-owned material without prior written consent. Third-party content that flows through the Service does not belong to Lysnap and is not subject to this section.

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Lysnap disclaims all warranties — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, accuracy, and reliability.

Use of the Service is at your own discretion and risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lysnap and the people and entities behind it (founders, employees, contractors, vendors, partners) won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including loss of data, profits, opportunity, or content — arising from your use of the Service.

Lysnap is also not liable for any claim, dispute, penalty, or legal consequence resulting from your use of downloaded content or your breach of platform terms, copyright laws, or other applicable rights.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Lysnap harmless from any third-party claim, demand, loss, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service;
• Any content you download, convert, or process through the Service;
• Your breach of these Terms;
• Your violation of copyright, platform terms, or third-party rights;
• Any unlawful or unauthorised use of content you obtained via Lysnap.

We may update, modify, suspend, or shut down any part of the Service at any time, with or without prior notice.

Supported tools, formats, platforms, and features may be added, removed, or changed as our roadmap evolves.

These Terms may be revised over time. The "Last revised" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.

Continuing to use Lysnap after a revision goes live counts as your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Governing jurisdiction, without regard to that jurisdiction's conflict-of-law provisions.
